The T8110 is Agere Systems Inc.’s latest addition to the Ambassador series of computer telephony integrated circuits. This device enhances the capabilities of its predecessors by offering a flexible interface for switching packet payloads between a local PCI bus and the H.100/H.110 buses. Additionally, it supports switching packets between the local PCI bus and local TDM streams. Designed to work with a coprocessor, the T8110 provides essential functions such as header, framing, and checksum generation. Operating solely on payloads allows for simultaneous support of multiple protocols, including IP, ATM, and A-Bis. To further reduce system integration costs, the T8110 includes support for non-PCI devices via a minibridge.
