The Trusted® Communications Interface (CI) is an intelligent module that provides a range of communication services for the Trusted Controller, minimizing communication load on the Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Processor. Hardware Specifications

The module is equipped with a Motorola PowerPC Processor, with bootstrap software stored in EPROM and operational firmware in flash memory, allowing for upgrades via the Front Panel Port.   • Data Read/Write Process: For reads, data is fetched from the local copy on the CI for quick access. Writes are sent to the TMR Processor first to maintain data consistency across all interfaces before updating the local copy.
  • Online Configuration Changes: Modifications to CI parameters can be made online, causing the module to disconnect and restart communications.
