ABB | RED615| Line Differential Protection And Control
RED615 Phase-Segregated Two-End Line Differential Protection and Control Relay
Overview:
The RED615 is designed for utility and industrial power systems, including radial, looped, and meshed distribution networks with or without distributed power generation. It is also suitable for line differential protection with a transformer within the protection zone. The relay communicates between substations via fiber optic links or galvanic pilot wires. Part of ABB’s Relion® product family, the 615 series relays are compact and have a withdrawable-unit design, adhering to the IEC 61850 standard for substation automation.
Functions:
-
Three-Phase Overcurrent Protection:
- Low Stage (PHLPTOC1): 3I> (1), 51P-1 (1)
- High Stage (PHHPTOC1, PHHPTOC2): 3I>> (1, 2), 51P-2 (1, 2)
- Instantaneous Stage (PHIPTOC1): 3I>>> (1), 50P/51P (1)
-
Earth-Fault Protection:
- Low Stage (EFLPTOC1, EFLPTOC2): I0> (1, 2), 51N-1 (1, 2)
- High Stage (EFHPTOC1, EFHPTOC2): I0>> (1, 2), 51N-2 (1, 2)
- Instantaneous Stage (EFIPTOC1): I0>>>, 50N/51N
Power Supply:
-
- Nominal Auxiliary Voltage: 100, 110, 120, 220, 240 V AC, 50 and 60 Hz; 24, 30, 48, 60 V DC
- Maximum Interruption Time: 50 ms at Un
- Auxiliary Voltage Variation: 38...110% of Un (38...264 V AC), 50...120% of Un (12...72 V DC)
- Start-Up Threshold: 19.2 V DC (24 V DC × 80%)
- Burden: <13.0 W (nominal)/<18.0 W (max.) DC, <16.0 W (nominal)/<21.0 W (max.) AC
- Ripple: Max 15% of DC value (100 Hz)
