This document describes the general specifications of the FCN autonomous controller with NFCP501/NFCP502 CPU module.

- "FCN" refers to the module consisting of autonomous controllers.
- "FCN-500" refers to the autonomous controllers with NFCP501/NFCP502 CPU module.
- Refer to the FCN Autonomous Controller module for functions.
Features
- High-performance, high-reliability modular controller
- Memory with ECC
- Low heat dissipation eliminates the need for a fan
- RAS features: CPU self-diagnosis, temperature monitoring, I/O diagnostics
- Hot-swappable modules
- Can function as link active schedulers (LASs) for low-speed voltage mode (H1) FOUNDATION Fieldbus segments
- Link up FOUNDATION Fieldbus-enabled field devices

FCN-500 Components
- Base module
- NFBU0 or FCN03
- Power supply module
- CPU module
- E2 bus interface module (optional)
- SB bus repeat module (optional)
- I/O modules
Base Module Types
- NFBU200 (long): Control unit alone, extension unit sharing
- N2BU051 (short): Duplexed power supply possibility
- NFBU050 (short): Control unit only, low power
- N2BU030 (compact): Control unit alone, extension unit sharing
Control Unit Alone
- The control unit can operate independently without an extension unit.
- The maximum number of I/O modules depends on the base module type and CPU configuration.
Maximum I/O Modules
- NFBU200 (long): Max. 8 modules (standard), Max. 6 modules (duplexed)
- N2BU051 (short): Max. 3 modules (standard), Not applicable (duplexed)
- NFBU050 (short): Max. 3 modules (standard), Not applicable (duplexed)
- N2BU030 (compact): Max. 1 module (standard), Not applicable (duplexed)
Note: Duplexing is not applicable for N2BU051, NFBU050, and N2BU030 base modules.
